If the political history of Elam has already been discussed in the historical part of this journal, it is time to see what will differentiate the Elamites from other cultures and civilizations in the game.

Several elements appeared to us of importance in the Elamite culture. The importance of the city of Susa, then of Anshan are crucial. The same goes for the administrative system of the Elamites which will later give the system of the Achaemenids Persia. Finally, the Elamites had a special system of succession where the inheritance of the throne went to a child of one of the sisters of the sovereigns.

For all this, we have made four features that are supposed to represent the cultural differences of the Elamites. All our cultures will work on this system of traits. Egyptians, Sumerians, Akkadians and Babylonians have them too, we just didn't name them directly. Note that trait values will be subject to balancing:

-Great Administration: have access to a greater variety of laws, pushing an alignment costs you less Legitimacy and autonomy reduces revolt by 50% more

-Elamite Succession: the rulers of this culture pass the line of succession through women, making them never change dynasty

-Susa: controlling Susa increases the Legitimacy by 0,25/year, but not controlling it reduces it by 0,25/year

-Anshan (from 1800BC): controlling Anshan gives you a +5 to your army morale, but not controlling it gives you a -5 to your army morale

Next week will see the release of the last demo of the game, the one that will go on Steam. We will meet again in two weeks to talk about the next region: Upper Mesopotamia.
