DD n°2: The Thinite Period(3100BC to 2800BC)

If the first two starting dates see the gradual unification of Egypt, the next three dates see the beginnings of a unified Egypt. And above all, the challenges that come with it. For while Egypt is unified, its people and pantheons not yet are.

The date of 3100BC brings you into play a few decades after unification. The people of Egypt are still divided between Lower and Upper Egypt and their pantheons are still divided. In addition to the gradual cultural unification, the date of 3100BC will push you to launch the first outward expansion. Sequels of events will send you to Gadatah, south of Canaan, and to seize the mines in the mountains east of the Nile.

The date of 2950BC will put you in a completely different situation. The pantheons are now one, and the people are gradually unifying from the capital. But new challenges lurk in the shadows. While the conflict between Nagada and Nekhen has seen the victory of the Horus of Nekhen, the clergy of Set and Horus are still in competition. And this will result in a growing animosity between the two, which may end up in a civil war within the royal family itself. You can either remain loyal to Horus, or embrace the cause of the dark master of Nagada. This will affect Egyptian culture in the long term, but it is up to you to discover the effects of your betrayal of Horus and to serve the lord of the desert.

Finally, the date of 2800BC puts you a few decades after the first civil war between Horus and Set. The dynasty descended from Narmer has given way to another. And if this was the first civil war between Horus and Set, it means that there will be a second one. Indeed, after the defeat of Set's camp, a part of his lands will have been attributed to the clergy of Anubis. A series of events will then launch a revolt of Nagada and Lower Egypt and damage is to be expected. The final defeat of the clergy of Set will make that this one will be replaced for good by the clergy of Anubis.

And it is after this 2nd civil war that Egypt will enter the era of the pyramids.
