Due to the period of total chaos for Egypt of 2200 BC, it will be one of the two starting dates with the most events (about 40), the other being 1750 BC.

The date of 2200 BC is at the end of the reign of Pepi II. It is thus a king of 80 years old, gone to live at least 10 more, who is your sovereign. His heir is in his fifties, and probably in his sixties when he will takes the throne. However, this is not your biggest concern. Your main problem is your decentralised state, which has allowed the nobility to become as powerful as their ruler. Upper Egypt hardly pays any taxes anymore, the influence of the nobility is colossal. If your dynasty does not succeed in holding out against the death of Pepi II, the whole of southern Egypt will rise up.

And that's what's going to happen.

You can't prevent the collapse of Egypt. But you can choose with whom you are going to reunify it. Here we will see the legitimist party, the last heirs of Pepi II.

In the best case, you will only have the lands around Men-nefer and half of Lower Egypt when the succession of catastrophes calms down. You will then be one of the most powerful states in Egypt in terms of land, but you will first need to reform your state to regain your natural right to the crown. Centralise your power, rebuild an administration and when the drought of kiloyear event 4.2 ends, set out to reconquer Egypt. Bringing down your main rivals to the throne will give you all the Ma'at you need to secure your place on the throne. And once that's done, you'll be free to put Egypt right and look forward to a new golden age.

But that's if you choose the corrupt heirs of Pepi II. Other champions could lead Egypt down a very different path.

And that's what we will see next week with the Nomarchs point of viex for this date !
