For the date 1600BC, there are two playable factions, the Lower Egypt of the Hyksos, and the Upper Egypt of the XVIth Dynasty.

The Hyksos will have several story lines to follow from one of their early events. They will have the choice to assimilate completely by becoming Egyptian. This will allow them to annex Upper Egypt diplomatically but will anger their cultural elites. They could also syncretize between Egyptians and Canaanites, like the XIVth Dynasty, which would help them try to annex Middle Egypt at the cost of bad relations with Upper Egypt. Finally, they could accept their supremacy over the Egyptians, which would help them militarily at the cost of very bad relations with Upper Egypt and attempted revolts in Middle Egypt.

Upper Egypt will revolve around several narrative axes. If it has rulers under a regency, their queen mothers will ensure the smooth functioning of power and the stability of the Ma'at. Then, events ensuring the control and defence of Middle Egypt will take place. Finally, it will be time to move up to Avaris once the majority of Middle Egypt is under your control.

But that's not all. Because these two factions will have specific events too if you reunite Egypt.

The Hyksos will have the opportunity to resurrect the cult of Set (not really dead historically, but in-game). But once they become Egypt, the cult of Set will be able to push for the separation between the cult of Amun and the cult of Ra. And once this is done, to merge the cults of Set and Ra. Yes yes, it's just to have a cult of Set-Ra. Puns and all that.

More seriously, Egypt unified by Thebes will have more content as the historical part between the two factions. Their story lines will revolve around getting revenge on the Canaanites by conquering at least southern Canaan. They will also have to deal with the Canaanites in the Delta, either assimilating them or being violent with them, or even pushing them into a mass exodus from Egypt. As in Upper Egypt, the importance of the women of the royal family will be emphasised. First of all with the integration of these women in the clergy of Amun. And especially if a regency is to be made after these events, the High Priestess of Amun will then take the regency like Hatshepsut.
