DD n°11: The New Kingdom(1450BC)

1450BC, the era of the New Kingdom. Egypt has just come out of the regency/rule of Hatshepsut, and for 8 years Djehoutymes/Thutmose III rules alone. His Canaan campaigns have begun and the battle of Megiddo has just taken place.

The narrative axes for Egypt from this starting date are four.

First of all, the conquest of Canaan will push the Egyptian borders to the Euphrates before the end of Djehoutymes III's reign. The subjugation of the different regions of Canaan will take place. And who knows, you may be able to do better than Djehoutymes III by bringing the Mitanni and Kizzuwatna into line. Then, the conquest of Nubia will have its narrative, to push you to the 5th Cataract.

But all these conquests will put you in charge of a vast Empire. And it is its management that will then become your narrative. Manage the princes of Canaan, the revolts in these regions, but also the gradual decline in wealth from the gold mines of Nubia.

Finally, as Hatshepsut's 'successor', Djehoutymes III and his successors will have to choose whether to accept her legacy or to wipe it from the annals of history. Whatever your choice, it will have its advantages and disadvantages.

In any case, it is a strong Egypt, at the height of its power, that you will have in your hands. Take full advantage of this new golden age, for remember, everything that rises to its zenith, eventually falls to its twilight.
